Kala Bhoomi: Odisha Crafts Museum
Client: Odisha Crafts Museum (Kala Bhoomi), Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts Department, Government of Odisha
Some books preserve history. Others preserve a way of life.
Kala Bhoomi: Odisha Crafts Museum was one such meaningful journey for us. Conceived for Odisha Crafts Museum, the coffee table book celebrates the extraordinary world of Odisha’s traditional arts and crafts. Each object carrying the imprint of skilled hands, generations of knowledge, and stories passed down through time.
Our endeavour was not merely to document a museum collection, but to create a publication that reflects the spirit of Odisha’s living craft traditions. Every page was thoughtfully designed to bring together heritage, research and visual storytelling, allowing the artefacts to speak for themselves through elegant layouts, immersive photography and refined editorial design.
From terracotta and stone carving to tribal jewellery, metal craft, textiles and indigenous art forms, the book offers readers a glimpse into the remarkable craftsmanship that continues to shape Odisha’s cultural identity. Carefully produced with premium print quality and attention to every detail, it stands as a lasting tribute to the artisans whose work defines the state’s rich creative legacy.
At Third Eye, we believe every publication should honour the story it represents. Kala Bhoomi remains one of those projects where design became a quiet bridge between heritage and the reader.
